| HELP GREAT DANE CHAMPIONS BOOK My name is Chris Bazzocco and I am lucky enough to enjoy the company of Great Danes who share our lives and who our family show and breed. During my time in the breed have had many occasions when I wanted to see what dogs in the pedigrees of our dogs looked like. I was able to find only a little information about them. So the concept of the GREAT DANE CHAMPIONS BOOK for Australia was born. Today thanks to the overwhelming generosity of many of the people in our Great Dane family I am well on my way to producing a quality record of the dogs who have achieved Champion status here in Australia. If you can help that will mean that this publication will be a bit better for your support. Cheers Chris FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: WHAT INFORMATION IS BEING PUT IN THE BOOK ( I will be converting all photos to black and white (grayscale for those who know what this is) and I will be cropping the photo so that only the dog is left no other alteration will be made. HOW WILL THE PAGES LOOK? There will be two dogs per page unless I don’t have a photo and then only the available information will be printed. HOW CAN I BE SURE MY DOG IS ON THE LIST? I believe I have a full list of all the Australian Champions from the 1960’s up till December of last year. I have to remind everyone that only dogs who have had their paperwork done would be on my list so if you want to be included don’t forget to put your paperwork into your Canine Control. Please feel free to contact me to make sure your dog is on my list. If you have any champions pre 1960 I would definitely be interested as I have none of these records. If your dog receives Champion status in the coming year please let me know. HOW CAN I CHECK THAT THE INFORMATION YOU HAVE IS CORRECT? Contact me I am happy to let you know what I have. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ME TO HAVE MY DOG PUT IN? There is no charge for putting your dog in. When I have a costing for the book I will probably offer page advertising to help offset the original costs. There will be a cost to purchase the book but at this stage I have no idea what it will be as it will depend on the printing costs. The book at this stage has approx 1600 dogs so it will depend on how many photo I can get. WHAT DO I DO IF I CAN’T FIND A PHOTO? I have a huge number of photos which were given to me of dogs through the ages and I will use these if there are no other photos available. Most owners will have better photos than the ones I have and as I am keen to get the best record I would be very happy to use any that are sent to me. If you have a photo and are unable to send it via the email I will be happy to scan it for you and send it back. I do realize these records are very precious and will treat them accordingly. IS IT ONLY AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONS? At this stage yes. The plan is to put the New Zealand Champions in the second edition as a lot of Australian dogs cross the water but I feel this will be enough for me for the first edition. HOW OFTEN WILL IT BE UPDATED? I imagine the second edition will follow within 2 years. There will be things in the First Edition that people will want changed (although all efforts will be made to make sure all information is correct) or photos that will need to be changed or included. It is also my hope that at that time the Book will be available on CD and we will have a web page which can be accessed by “The World” as a reference tool. This will all depend on whether I am divorced or not by then. WHAT ABOUT THE AGILITY AND OBEDIENCE CHAMPIONS? I have been very lucky with the offer of help in this area from Margo Turnbull. She is collating the information for this part of the book as she had years of experience and knowledge in this area which I don’t have. She will check everything to make sure that as much as possible the information is correct. Should you need her contact details just let me know. HOW DO I GET A LIST OF MY CHAMPIONS? Just contact me and I will give you the list I have for your Prefix. HOW CAN I HELP? Firstly to everyone who has asked this already a huge THANK YOU. The most important thing is to get the word to people who I obviously would not know and ask them to contact me. Providing information on not only your dogs but dogs from people who are not still in the breed would be very helpful. Allow me to put you on the Great Dane Champions Book email list so that you get updates on the book and can be asked for any information I am currently researching.
